Kinsale - May 21
The fort was constructed by thr British in the late 1600s to protect Kinsale harbor.

The star shape and significant battlements proved a very effective defense against invaders.

The guns were never fired against an enemy.

Hugh canon were mounted on swivels here.

Charles Fort was matched by James Fort on the other side of the channel.

Walking back to Kinsale, we saw some beautiful views.

We followed the up and down hilly road, and then on to Scilly Walk.
