Visiting the Hopperstad Stave Church

Built in the early 1100s, this stave church has been restored
several times, most extensively in the 1880s.

The most recent work involved application of a tar-like covering
and installation of a sprikler system.

A service building helps monitor the safety of the church.

A farmer mows fresh hay in the fields beyond.
