Vik, Norway - June 12 Visiting the Hopperstad Stave Church

Built in the early 1100s, this stave church has been restored several times, most extensively in the 1880s.

The most recent work involved application of a tar-like covering and installation of a sprikler system.

A service building helps monitor the safety of the church.

A farmer mows fresh hay in the fields beyond.
