Notes from the May - June 2009
Tour of Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia and England

Chipping Campden, England - June 14-15
After landing at Gatwick, collecting our rental car (black Mercedes A140 diesel, shown) from Alamo,
we took M23/M25/M40/A40 motorways around the London metro area, heading for Oxford.
After lunch at a McDonalds near Oxford, we went out to M40 to continue our trip, rather turn onto A40.
This error put us out of our way enough so that we continued on B level country roads adding pretty
towns along the way, but also narrow lanes and slow, tense going. Mistake!
We arrived here at Bramley House in Chipping Campden, later than expected, at about 7 PM.

A welcome sight after a busy 30 hours since leaving Balestrand

Our accomodations were in the Garden Suite, upstairs, separated from the main house.

On a walk into town the next morning, we made a tour of the Back Ends of the town.

The town is beautifully maintained, including some historic thatch-roofed cottages
