Theme 1. Social Involvement/Sense of Community
 What do you like the most about our community/region?
  Integration of youth and seniors
  Pace which supports the seniors here
  This community recognizes and honors volunteers
  Senior community
  The friendliness and the helpfulness of the people
  Community involvement/sense of community/small town feel
  GVCCC involvement with HOAs/POAs
 What do you most want to change or improve about our community/region?
  Addressing the elderly homeless problem
  Better interaction GVCC/GVR/Green Valley Rec
  More help for needy seniors or others with special needs-financial-health
  More integration of the Hispanic community with other groups
 
Theme 2. Local Government and Regionalism
 What do you most want to change or improve about our community/region?
  The focus of the conversation needs to look more south (Green Valley Vision is looking more south-Santa Cruz Valley, Rio Rico)
  Town/village concept for quasi-governmental agency, extension of GVCCC
  A more "regional" feeling (interaction between GV and Tucson (activities and events) Santa Cruz Valley)
  Incorporation or annexation by Sahuarita (access to government)
 Why is this important? How does this affect you?
  Greater recognition of GVCCCC/boundaries
  G.V. has its own local identity (not Sahuarita)
  Enables residents to work on local priorities like a town center
  Question: How to define local?
  Regional identity important, but smaller is better (local voice)- not to be swallowed up

 What do you like the most about our community/region?
  Access to Tucson
  Proximity to Tucson(UA/TIA)
  No heavy traffic
  No icy roads
 What do you most want to change or improve about our community/region?
  More in-town walking paths. More paths to get from one place to another
  Limited air service (airport too small)
  Roads! (county funding state funding) maintenance

 What do you like the most about our community/region?
  The natural beauty and climate of the area
  State recognizing the need to promote open affordable spaces
  Open spaces
  Mountains, high desert, mild climate (unobstructed views)
 What do you most want to change or improve about our community/region?
  Santa Cruz Valley heritage area (short term: passage in the US Senate with support from Kyl and McCain) -preservation
  More plastic recycling
  Work towards resolving our area water needs
  Air quality

  Less wastage of water etc.
  Education of recycling
  Make recycling easier for seniors
  Re-use, reclaiming of natural resources
  Recycling system - expand for plastics, styrofoam

  A positive feeling from Tucson and Pima County in general not "those old folks"

  Our growth industry is senior living housing

 What do you like the most about our community/region?
  Recreational and educational activities
  Local newspaper
  All the learning opportunities, such as GVR classes, OLLI and lectures
  GVR activities
  Convenient library
  Compact development- get places quickly
 What do you most want to change or improve about our community/region?
  Enlarge upon the community culture of walking
  A real community college with for-credit classes (community education)
  Illegal Aliens/drug cartels (Mexico)
  Green Valley Village to be the core of the "town" (poorly designed shopping center, no downtown)
  Better restaurants
  Better local medical facilities
  Limited shopping
  More restaurants and shops… a main street
  A central park in the town center
  Shopping south region (G.V. area)
  Missing services in this hospital, ER, domestic violence shelter
