Theme 1. Ecomony and Jobs
 What do you most want to change or improve about our community/region?
  $ Better work opportunities
  Higher paying jobs!!!
  Area residents should look at the positive things. Too much negative thinking by some
  Job opportunity for ? people who ? have
  Job opportunities for non-English speaker
  Need more local businesses
  Not enough big companies
 Why is this important? How does this affect you?
  Need more opportunities for education, jobs, participate in social activities. I want a city that offers opportunities across all spectrums.
 
Theme 2. Nature "Natural Setting"
 What do you like the most about our community/region?
  The outdoor opportunities especially the hiking

  The picturesque mountains/weather
  Open air environment
  Mountain (nature environment)
  Outdoor opportunities (drawing of mountains, cacti, moon, sun)
 Why is this important? How does this affect you?
  Remember driving here, seeing mountains, and saying "I'm home"
  Camping can be a new experience for kids, campfires
  Want to bring the magice of nature back into the city, bring uniqueness back (example: community gardening)
  Go up Mt. Lemmon or to Finger Rock - nature allows for balance from uglier parts of Tucson
  Some lower-economic populations never get to experience nature
 
Theme 3. Cultural Diversity
 What do you like the most about our community/region?
  Diverse cultures
  Small town feel but still a city
  History and diversity

  Our area's rich cultural heritage is our greatest asset

 Why is this important? How does this affect you?
  You get stuck with the politics before you can improve and need jobs
  Unknown
  School-like best
  Need public transit that goes to Sabino Canyon, Mt. Lemmon. This is a system problem
  Raised to enjoy nature. Grew up in a different place which included fishing nature. Where is the connection for friends to help to go do stuff. Have to have friends and connections
  Know nothing about Tucson, want to know about it before leaving. Trying to listen to others
  Some don't have parks in their neighborhoods. So how can you encourage kids to go out. Church does have basketball court. City could help neighborhood get a park
  TCE contamination in a neighborhood
  Opportunity to think about having native foods instead of turkey for Thanksgiving
  Want weather and parks to help motivate youth and children to volunteer and be inspired to something with their life more outdoor activities. Get vision to get this going
  Need equality across the board (example: heath care- should everyone have quality health care?
  How do you do it here? (equalit) (example: food bank has trouble getting food for everyone)
 
Theme 4. Artistic Culture
 What do you like the most about our community/region?
  People ask where you are from (not what you do) i.e. very equalizing and receptive
  The arts
  The people -are friendly
  Hospitality
  Metropolitan amenities (music, theater) but small town feel
  Easy to connect small chain to know all
 
Theme 5. Urban Life
 What do you like the most about our community/region?
  Finally greening the town and area
  Urban gardens (surplus given to Food Bank)
  The positive growth of Rio Nuevo
 What do you most want to change or improve about our community/region?
  Criminal activities. Reduction
  A highway through town - traffic
  Crime reduction
  Transportation include the history of horses, horse driven carriages
  Transportation hard to travel from one area to the other
  Safer neighborhoods
  Public transportation system that has longer hours/more distance
  Road maintenance
  Urban blight
  Lack of keeping clean/upgraded
  Lack of comprehensive city beautification plan ( lots of "ugly" places)
 Why is this important? How does this affect you?
  Spirituality of family, person, human being.
  Family structure needs to be there to take responsibility for creating leasdership qualities. Parent engagment, support important. Need strong foundation
  Limerlost Neighborhood Association has really eveolved. Can we look at that as an example?
  How do we recruit leadership for the future?
  How does the city identify and support leadership? Need to actively find it

 What do you like the most about our community/region?
  Youth programs
 What do you most want to change or improve about our community/region?
  Opportunities for youth
  Evil influences (drawing of expressive faces)
  A lack of a full range of activities for youth (what happened to the Rave be safe driving rave night!)
  How to keep youth engaged in Tucson's future
 Why is this important? How does this affect you?
  How do we keep our family here and have a community that supports and engages youth

 What do you like the most about our community/region?
  School education system
  Education system (opportunities)

  Better Education (valuing education)
 Why is this important? How does this affect you?
  Wide difference in schoold set up (example: some don't have enough money for computers, autoshop only for juniors and seniors. School gardens dedicated to drive-by shooting victims
 
Theme 8. Communication/Infrastructure
 What do you most want to change or improve about our community/region?
  People's character + use of (drawing of clock + $ sign)
  People active in community
  Stereo typing (ex. "something happened on the south side") of areas of Tucson
  More teamwork collaboration
  Politics
  Lack of communication between the whole city
 Why is this important? How does this affect you?
  Lack of communication infrastructure because we grew too fast
  City council didn't want to grow, wanted to keep small town atmosphere
