Tour of Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia and England
 London, England - June 21-22 On Sunday June 21, we made our way out of Bodmin, around Exeter and NE on A303 heading for Gatwick Airport south of London. In early afternoon, we looked out the window of our trusty Mercedes and saw on the horizon . . . |
 Could that be? Stonehenge? |
 We had no intention of seeing Stonehenge, but there it was (with what looks like a pile of garbage bags). |
 At Gatwick, we turned in the car where we got it, one week later and missing one hubcap. I don`t know where the hubcap came off, but on those back country roads, curbs were close. I remember a few bumps as the left side of the car got pretty close to various objects, what with me driving on the left and sitting in the right front seat, despite Kenith telling me to `Center` the car - keep it squared up in the lane. Alamo didn't seem to care. |
 Our abode for the next seven nights - 28 Marsham Court, Westminster. We took the Gatwick Express train to Victoria Station and walked over to our place. We were in a one bedroom flat (No.28) on the seventh floor, with a living room, bathroom (tub, no shower), dining room and kitchen. The flat had lots of windows that opened for fresh air and looked out to the southeast. There was a TV, telephone, fridge, stove, an elevator and a 24 hour porter in the lobby. Internet connection was available through dial-up, but I found a WiFi signal accessible from the living room to a service that sold me a package of minutes. |
 Monday morning, June 22, we began walking through Westminster, heading for the Britain and London Visitors Centre in Piccadilly to pick up our London Passes and 6 day Travel Cards. |
