Barrow in Furness, England - May 26 First port of call A brass band and friendly people came to welcome us to their land. |

After a short stop in Barrow for the cash machine, our first destination was at the pier on Coniston Water. |
This glacier-formed lake of six miles in length was the site of boat speed record attempts, including a fateful run in 1967 of Donald Campbell's Bluebird boat that broke up at 320 mph killing him. |
